Preparation:
- In a mixer’s bowl, put the flour, sugar, instant yeast, mahlab, vanillin, mastic (beaten with a mortar and pestle, until finely grounded) and stir with the hook attachment for 1’.
- Add OLYMPOS Milk of life 3.7%, orange zest, OLYMPOS natural orange juice, the eggs and the melted butter OLYMPOS and whisk at medium to high speed for approximately 10’, until we get an elastic dough
- Put the dough in a large greased bowl, cover it with a wrap and leave it in a warm place, until it doubles in size.
- Once the dough is ready, cut it in 6 equal-sized pieces and shape in 6 strings.
- Make 2 sweet breads with 3 braids each.
- Put the sweet breads in a parchment paper separately and place them in a large baking pan.
- Cover them with a towel and allow them to rest in a warm place, until they double in size (approximately 45’).
- In a small bowl, crack the egg, add 1 tablespoon of OLYMPOS Milk of Life 3.7% and start beating with a fork.
- Brush over the sweet breads, sprinkle with almond slivers and bake in a pre-heat, fan-assisted oven, at 160ο for approximately 25’-30’ minutes.
